横浜 / Yokohama

After being in Tokyo, I went further to Yokohama, also to see the Yokohama Triennale in particular.

When I stepped out in Yokohama Station, approaching the landmark tower, I almost had the feeling as of seeing Amsterdam Sloterdijk, the Office and Industrial Area, in a different setup; the architecture and appearance were very similar to me. Although it was different, it offered to me a similar inexplicable view on inhumanity.

The surroundings, the imagery, the Landmark Tower, the Amusement Park and eventually the way to the Yokohama Triennale were fairly inaccessible to me.

On the other hand, Yokohama also show a great diversity in its city image, which sometimes reminded me of bigger German cities in Ruhr Valley. And of course, I found also rather traditional places as the Sankeien Garden, where a part of the Yokohama Triennale was presented.

More images and explanations will follow…
